With almost 200 drink spiking incidents reported to police forces during October and November 2021, Katie Burrington decided to develop a Drink Spiking Test and Checkyourdrink.co.uk was born.

We were tasked with designing and launching a new site and initiating a range of digital marketing channels.

What press hype?

Aside from local and national press coverage CYD has also enjoyed national TV exposure.

Four elements of work

Following a surge in orders in Autumn 2021 from press hype over spiking, the challenge for us was to keep the sales momentum going forward, without the support of the press. 

WEB DESIGN

The previous WordPress site was replaced with a harder hitting news style design.

SEO

The site ranked #1 for ‘drink spiking test’ but only accounted for 500 searches a month – we went for terms that total 80,000 a month.

SOCIAL

Social marketing was stepped up with posts and ads across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

GOOGLE, EMAIL, ETC

A range of other digital channels have been initiated and optimisation continues.

The results?

WEBSITE METRICS

Siginificant improvement in the UX metrics time on site, pages visited, bounce rate, exit rate, and the all important conversion rate.
