SEO

Jamcomm has several years SEO experience optimising sites with a number of clients now ranked number 1 on Google for key terms. Take a look at some of our SEO results.

How does SEO work?

SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) required a series of changes

Firstly for a site to have SEO treatment the site has to be fully indexable by Google. All pages of the site must be navigable by the search engines - this means no Javascript menu systems, a comprehensive and up to date sitemap (and an xml sitemap submitted to Google for good measure).

Next the site architecture has to make sense from a target keyword point of view. SEO can't work if there is no hierarchy to the site to prioritise key 'champion pages'. Let me explain further - if your target keyword was 'cookers' and all the 2 and 3 word versions of this (e.g. 'pressure cookers', 'low price cookers'), you would need to structure your pages in a tree-like form with the more specific keyword pages all feeding in to the 'master' page of 'cookers'. That way Google can see where your 'authority' page is

Next you need to develop your link building - both internally and externally. So internal links to show google how the 2 and 3 word search term pages feed in to the authority page, and the same with links from outside; all the time ensuring your anchor text reflects the terms you are trying to rank

Next there is the page naming, metas and page content - all of which needs to be keyword focussed

And before you do anything you need to identify your competition on Google, understand the keywords they target, the keywords you require and then research to which are the highest volume keywords and which will drive the highest conversion and business.

So you can see SEO is not rocket science but a series of logics and focussed work.
